The importance of distance calculations

Why the lack of wing movement was not decisive

One argument against birds was that the film did not show obvious flapping. Critics argued that a flock of gulls should reveal wing motion or other biological characteristics. Robert M. L. Baker Jr., who conducted a separate photogrammetric study for Douglas Aircraft in the 1950s, also examined the bird possibility.
